e © AP6.0 I take much pride in offering you this absolutely fantastic slice of vinyl from the heyday of 1970s Iran. Pressed and released in a very limited quantity in 1974, this album is probably the most mind blowing LP I have heard for a long long time. The artist on vocals and sitar is Mehr Pooya, the album's name is "Jumbo Afrika" (which is a very long afro-funk tune you'll be hearing snippets from below) and the disc is full to the brim with two quite contrasting scenes: one part is killer sitar funk with serious Afro touches and rest is mind melting trippy sitar psychedelia of the first order! Especially the Afro touch is very much unusual for an Iranian record, never minding the sitar! A western listener might not know exactly but sitar is not a popular instrument in Iran; it's all coming from the sheer eccentricity of the artist. Features the fantastic "Soul Raga" already high on collector's lists on 45rpm! Condition: Cover has no writings, no seam splits, no tears. There's ringwear only as a defect. A strong VG+. Disc is VG to VG+. No scratches but plenty of superficial scuffs, almost all inaudible. Original pressing is not the best in the world, there are parts with some surface noise (or hiss?) but mostly plays loud and strong.
