Description
After waiting months for it to arrive at our local record shop, I purchased this album in either 1963 or 1964. I have done a thorough research on the album and believe it to be an original, not one of the many "fakes" ou there. Here is how I arrived at this conculsion:
1. The front and back cover is a semi-gloss slick.
2. The record titles are listed on the back cover in two columns and include Please, Please Me (including the comma) and Ask Me Why.
3. The printing is clear and professional looking - not at all blurry.
4. The label has "The Beatles" and "Introducing The Beatles" are centered ABOVE the hole.
5. The rainbow on the colorband label is semi-gloss, has a gradual change in colors, and has a bright sharp silver paint for the wording.
6. I measured the trail-off-the gap between the last record and the edge of the label and it is exactly 1" wide.
7. There is an MR in a circle in the trail-off area.
8. There are brackets around the white "VJ, Vee-Jay Records"
9. No dots under the top of the back cover.
10. There is a 1/4" overlap of cardboard at the top and bottom of the inside cover.
11. Has George Harrison's shadow near the edge of the cover.
The cover is in good condition (with the exception of where I wrote my name to keep my brothers away from it!), no rip, tears, or discoloration. Stored indoors in a non-smoking environment since it was purchased.
If you have any questions about this album, please send me an email and I will provide additional information or photos for you.
And, bid with confidence as I have over 1400 feedbacks with a 100% POSITIVE rating.
On Jun-24-08 at 12:25:14 PDT, seller added the following information:**NOTE** I hate to put this one here for fear my evaulation won't be up to par. But, I played the record, both sides, this morning and it sounds fine to me. One side has a couple of small scratches, but it didn't seem to affect the way it played or sounded. The other side is pretty clean.
But, please remember, I'm not a record collector and what seems "fine" to me may not be "fine" to you. I'm dong my best at being honest here, but also don't want to get slammed later for holding back information. I'll be glad to provide any information, including photos, if you feel you need them in order to determine whether or not you want to bid on this item. THANKS!!
