Performer Notes: One of the last fervent flag-wavers of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, Saxon unleashes its 18th studio release. One of the most dynamic and epic albums of the band's career, INTO THE LABYRINTH combines the Deep Purple-meets-AC/DC barroom rock with progressive, near-Teutonic metal anthems. The elements that truly make the album special are Biff Byford's laid-back, swaggering vocal style and Charlie Bauerfeind's (Blind Guardian, Helloween, Gamma Ray) rich production. INTO THE LABYRINTH closes with a stripped-down, bluesy rendition of the fan favorite "Coming Home," the original version of which appeared on 2001's KILLING GROUND.

Professional Reviews: Kerrang (Magazine) (p.56) - "When you hear searing opener 'Battalions Of Steel' paired with fist-raising singalong-ready second track 'Live To Rock' you're already preparing yourself for the best Saxon album in years."

Record Collector (magazine) (p.101) - 4 stars out of 5 -- "The building, rhythmic, choir-like intro to opener 'Battalions Of Steel' soon shifts into classic speed metal with a nod to Manowar."
