Record Grading:

All records will be graded according to the following scale.

Sometimes records may be promotional copies and may not have a cover. If this is the case or if there is anything else worth mentioning it will be in the description above.

Generally I will only be selling records of very good or better condition.

PLEASE NOTE: Records are graded visually only. I have too many records here to listen to every one carefully.
Please read the returns section below for more details about that process if required.

Grading Description MINT

The record is as new. The cover and any inserts should be in perfect condition. Many dealers do not use this classification as a record is unlikely to arrive through the post in truly mint condition.

EXCELLENT PLUS

The record is near-mint, there is no damage or visible surface marking. Under bright light you may see fine lines on the record, caused by rubbing on the paper sleeve. Reserve this grade for records where you have difficulty spotting anything wrong.

The cover and inserts are undamaged.

EXCELLENT

The record may show some signs of having been played, possibly with light surface marks or fingerprints but there should be no appreciable lessening in sound quality.

The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

EXCELLENT MINUS

There may be fairly visible surface markings under bright light but the sound quality of the record should not be adversely affected.

The cover and inserts may have noticeable light creasing or "foxing" due to dampness but they are all present and intact.

VERY GOOD

The record has obviously been played a lot, but should have no major deterioration in sound quality despite surface marks and some light scratches. Also Use this grading where the record has suffered perhaps one more visible scratch, but is otherwise in EX or better condition.

The cover may be creased a little and/or frayed at the opening. You should itemize any more serious damage such as tears.

GOOD

The record has been played so much that the sound quality has been affected noticeably, perhaps with some distortion and clicks due to scratches. The main place to use this classification is for picture discs, where the sound deteriorates more quickly with use.

The cover and inserts may be folded, have minor tears and/or splits at the edges, they have not been looked after.

FAIR

The record is still just playable, but has not looked after there is a lot surface noise, it may even jump.

The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced, possibly with chunks missing.

POOR

The record will no longer play properly due to the damage.

The cover will be folded torn and probably incomplete.

BAD

Gee, You gotta be desperate to complete your collection to buy this one! It WILL be unplayable, and if you get the cover, treat it as a bonus!

Payment & Delivery:

Payment can be PayPal, direct to bank on request after auction end or postal order.

Your item will be posted by Royal Mail the day after cleared funds are received.
Records will be posted in a 12" cardboard mailer with stiffening card for maximum protection in the post.
I always get a certificate of posting document from the post office when sending items.

International postage will vary!

I do not accept any responsibility for any loss or damage in the post but I will make every effort to assist in gaining compensation from the Post Office in the unlikely event that a loss or damage does occur. If in doubt or concerned in any way you should consider alternative postage/insurance options which can be discussed after the auction end if you prefer. (e.g. Recorded Signed For)

Multiple Auction Savings:

If you win several record auctions then postage discounts will be applied according to the following scale:-

  • 1 x 12" is £2.35
  • 2 x 12" is £2.76
  • 3 x 12" is £3.24
  • 4 x 12" is £3.24 as well if package < 1000g in weight.

A maximum of four 12" records will fit in one mailer comfortably.
If purchasing more than four records then please enquire about postage as it may vary.

Returns:

Every effort is made to describe the condition of records accurately, however, if not happy with the records quality description then you can send the record(s) back and ask for a refund. If agreed then the full auction price will be refunded. Unfortunately neither out or return postage can be refunded and will be the buyers responsibility.
