  6. This album is Can's answer to 1973 "Space Ritual" by Hawkwind

  8. Can really stretch out on this one – with long tracks even for their standards (two of them well over the 30-minute mark), this is exactly what you could expect: slightly jazzy, thoroughly psychedelic experimental krautrock that first discovers a groove buried ten layers in your subconsciousness, add inviting, seducing psychedelic guitar riffs and, surfing on some carefully chosen keyboards clusters, goes down the Alice In Wonderland rabbit hole from that point. Sound-wise, they were in their Future Days-phase which was as interesting in ambient grooves as in floating melodies, everybody is in confident top form, Damo Suzuki’s voice is the vessel that lets you get lost in these wonderful jams.

    Notably, the first track (called „Whole People Queueing“ or „Queueing Down“ on different versions) is a no other album track that appears nowhere else in their catalogue – not even on the Lost Tapes. It’s terriffic, like a loose, casual paraphrase of Future Days. The beautiful, soothing version of „One More Night“ is on the Lost Tapes, but there it was shortened almost two and a half minutes (to fit the disc).

    This album is a lot more representative for what the band sounded, jamming even in the studio, as they tended to edit down their studio jams and stitch the highlights together for the albums. This is one of their best unofficial (underground) albums available, it’s musically as good as the comparatively official Radio Waves and miles and miles better than the bonus live-tracks on the deluxe version of Tago Mago.
