Description
I've been selling off my collection of records off for the last two years and this is the final instalment. But it's a good one. The main photo shows how substantial it is - filling maybe 2.5m of shelf-space. Also I have included two photos showing items picked haphazardly from one box.
The range is nearly all pop and indie 1950s to 90s with a small number of blues, Americana and jazz. I have already pulled out and sold all my classical, spoken word and dance records. Probably over half are LPs with the rest 12" singles. There maybe is the odd 10" as well. I was keen John Peel listener so the range of music I have acquired include much he played.
Many of the records of the 80's/90's I bought new and have tried to keep in good condition. These will rate VG or Excellent on the Record Collector scale. Others will have been got from 2nd hand shops so condition will span the entire range - although probably not anything Poor.
A random selection of artists picked out of one box - Aztec Camera, Sudden Sway, Stranglers, Teenage Fanclub, Tears for Fears, Tom Tom Club, Talking Heads (a picture disc), A House, Altered Images, Richard and Linda Thompson,The (thrashing) Doves, They Might be Giants, Stones Roses, Zuzu's Petals, Therapy, Temperance Seven, Television, Naplam Death, My Bloody Valentine.
I'm not a trader but was chatting to someone who is who has bought several of my vinyl 'bundles' before about what the LPs/12"s fetch when sold individually. All told this lot could fetch well over £1000 if sold record-by-record.
GENERAL
Grading - By a purely visual inspection - grades as per http://www.ebay.co.uk/gds/Record-Collector-Grading-System-/10000000011599183/g.html and quoted in the format cover/disc - I'm quite strict with my grading and so far all of my buyers have been happy with my the grades I have allocated. Normally the damage to covers is wear along the edge caused by me removing and putting back the item on my shelves.
