Description
Wonderful Chess Records' Cadet Concept album from November 1968, Chicago. This and two great albums by Muddy Waters were a successful plan to market their blues greats to white youth, whose access to and understanding of this music had been stunted by US society. Youths knew that Cream and The Rolling Stones worshipped these men but they were 'world music' to them. Cadet used rock session musicians to back the Great Ones. The daring, intense arrangements and guitar were by the fantastic Pete Cosey. Cosey is the only player I can bracket with Jimi Hendrix. The title might sound flip, but is an accurate summation of the artists' response to playback. They liked the royalty 'checks'. These were their biggest-selling albums by miles.

CONDITION OF DISCS I am not a dealer, not motivated by profit. I am a music fan, just like you. I chiefly want this great stuff to go to good homes, irrespective of price. That is why I cut postage to the bone. I cannot comment on the playing qualities of every disc. I last played many of them decades ago. I expected my discs to be enjoyably playable when I picked one to put on the turntable. Now I select them to post. I try to give an accurate account of what I see. This the basis on which all used records are sold by anybody. I am as experienced as anyone in England at judging a record visually. At the starting price of £0.99, and up, I would buy any of these again.
