Description
The Horace Silver Quintet LP - The Tokyo Blues - Blue Note BLP 4110 RVG Ear, 1st.
Original 1st pressing of a classic vinyl record by The Horace Silver Quintet - The Tokyo Blues.
Back cover has large font upper right (catalog #) and on bottom it has the 43 West 61st St. New York 23 address.
The vinyl has the P also known as the “ear” symbol and Van Gelder stamp on both sides in the runoff or dead wax. It is the tenth Horace Silver LP and the fifth record made with this famous edition of his great quintet.
This is the original issued US Blue Note recording released in 1962. The original inner sleeve is included and in almost perfect condition.
The musicians are Horace Silver (pianist, leader),
Blue Mitchell (trumpet), Junior Cook (tenor sax),
Gene Taylor (bass), Roy Brooks (drums).
Grading is as follows and is graded using the goldmine as a guide.
VINYL: VG++ the vinyl record is clean and only the slightest subtle scuffs can be seen but it essentially looks nearly mint. I play tested the record and it plays really nice with no excessive surface noise beyond that of a new vintage Blue Note pressing. The vinyl is very clean with some stain on the label of side two. It obviously does not affect the sound.
COVER: Near Mint (N/M) Super clean smooth laminated color cover. The front cover is near perfect with No split seams and very sharp corners (no bumped corners - as visible in the photos). There is a light stamp from the record distributor or store.
