Description

Radio Nederland's annual Holland Festival of Opera, Chamber Music, Orchestral Concerts and Choral Concerts for 1961 is available at auction. It's a 4-LP Box Set sent to American Radio Stations for their broadcasts ONLY. Set includes 4 half-hour programmes for air-play. Quite rare.  LP's are all Near Mint. The Box is in very good condition.

Programme I, Orchestral Works:  Amsterdam Concertgebouw Orchestra plays 1)Concerto For Piano And Orchestra conducted by Bernard Haitlink; soloist is Hans Henkemans. 2)Five Pieces For Orchestra, Opus 10 conducted by Pierre Boulez;  3) Scherzo, from Symphony No. 6 conducted by Pierre Boulez.

Programme II, Opera:  1) BENVENUTO CELLINI from 1st Act Duet "O Teresa Vous Que J'aime", Antoinette Tiemessen, Soprano and Nicolai Gedda, Tenor. Netherlands Opera Orchestra conducted by Georges Pretre.  2)LE NOZZE DI FIGARO Fragment from finale, Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, Stefania Malagu, Graziella Sciutti, Hermann Prey, Joseph Rouleau, Mimi Aaden and Frans Vroons. The Hague Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Carlo Maria Giulini. 3)SIMON BOCCANEGRA, Finale of 3rd Act "Gran Dio, li benedici", Antoinette Tiemessen, Ugo Trama, Aurelio Oppicelli and Angelo Bartoli. Netherlands Opera Choir and Orchestra conducted by Antal Dorati. 4)COUNT BLUEBEARD'S CASTLE fragment sung in Hungarian, Helga Pilarczyk, Mezzo-soprano and Mihaly Szekely Bass. The Hague Boys' Choir, Albert de Klerk, organ conducted by Felix de Nobel. 5)Sanctus, from the "Missa Solemnis", Erna Spoorenberg, soprano, Nan Merriman, contralto, Alexander Young, tenor, Heinz Refuss, bass, Radio Choir and Radio Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Eugen Jochem.
