Hi, this is a US 45 EP by The Hitmakers, "It's Only Sad" b/w "Everything Is Getting Better" and "Lose", released on Mirror Records 22857 in 1978. Condition is VG+ with some concentric scuffing (like on a juke box) and ultra-clean labels. The picture sleeve is VG to VG+ (open on two sides -- very strange!) with some ring, edge, corner wear, and some staining. Here's what another eBay seller had to say about this one(thanks, whoever you are): This is not Armand Schaubroeck’s (House Of Guitars) label out of Rochester, New York. This Mirror Records was based out of Oakland, California. The Hitmakers hailed from San Diego with the line-up for this release being Jeff Scott on vocals, Ron Silva and Josef Marc on guitars, Steve Potterf on bass, and Joel Kmak on drums. Ron and Steve had left the band to start the Crawdaddys when this record was released, so they are not properly credited on the sleeve notes. Musically this is kind of sharp-edged pop-rock (with a mid-70s garage genuineness) not unlike The Real Kids powerpop with high-pitched vocals. The A-side might confirm the obsession any kid had at the time with The Rolling Stones. Quite good. Everything Is Getting Better and Lose have recently resurfaced on the Back Seat Love compilation, vol.1. This was their second release, the first being a 5-track EP in 1977 called America’s Newest Hitmaker issued as by Jeff Scott/Josef Marc. Jeff and Josef had earlier been members of The Dils. After The Hitmakers broke up Jeff became an economist, and Josef amused himself by playing with everyone from Jonathan Richman to Metallica's graphic designer...Lots more RARE PUNK this week! All records are professionally packaged in custom mailer boxes and protected on the inside by thick filler pads.
