Description

Up for auction today is one of the remaining copies of Haymarket Square's lost 1968 psychedelic rock album "Magic Lantern".  This copy comes directly from the personal collection of Bill Bailey of the original Baron & Bailey Light Circus.  The album has been opened, but the record played once, if at all.  Both record, jacket and interior sleeve are in excellent condition.  There is no evidence of wear on the record, jacket or interior sleeve.

A small edition of 100 copies was privately pressed by Chapparal Records as a soundtrack to the Baron & Bailey Light Circus at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, Illinois. Bill Baron & Bill Bailey commissioned this album, and it was recorded expressly to provide music to the Light Circus exhibit at the Museum between the live Haymarket Square performances.  This album was sold only at the Museum, and Haymarket Square did not record any other albums.

The jacket is still a vibrant, almost highlighter pink color, and maintains all of its original cellophane wrapper. Paste on cover is solid all around. Back cover just as vibrant, just as solid.  A completely gorgeous example of the jacket.

As an added bonus, Bill Bailey will be happy to provide any additional narrative of the history of the original event to the lucky buyer of this rare recording!!
