Description

"Another Monday Night at Birdland"

Original thick vinyl pressing deep groove from 1959 on Roulette Records, catalog #SR-52022, stereo. Made in USA.

The vinyl is near mint, one tiny 1/8th inch needle line does not affect play, there are no extraneous noises, a great sounding record! Probably so well preserved due to the wax inner sleeve, the best inner sleeves ever made! The cover is in beautiful condition, near mint, it still had the original shrink wrap on when it came into the shop (see pics), no ringwear, the spine and seams are fine, no wear or splits.

A recording of a Monday night jam session at Birdland with Lee Morgan (aged 19) on trumpet, Curtis Fuller (aged 22) on trombone, Hank Mobley and Billy Root on tenors, Ray Bryant on piano, Tommy Bryant on bass and "Specs" Wright on drums. The album contains four long tracks and is beautifully recorded. The playing level is incredibly high with both Morgan and Fuller absolutely burning on all tracks. You MUST get this one!!
