Hank Mobley, Workout.
Early USA pressed Blue Note Records mono LP, BLP 4080.
47 West 63rd NYC label script at 12 o'clock to side two, New York, USA only script to side one. Rear of sleeve lists 43 West 61st.
"R" after Blue Note logo either side. A thin slightly raised line that can be felt to the touch rather than an inset groove,
RVG (for Rudy Van Gelder) and "ear" stampers both sides, although the "ears" are slightly more indeterminate squiggles.
Vinyl in very clean condition. Although close inspection of the centre spindle areas shows evidence of a few spider trace marks, vinyl surfaces are very clean, and display just one more immediately visible superficial scuff (not scratch). Else, surfaces are very clean and have no dulled patches. Clearly a fairly carefully played LP.
Playback throughout is superb, and free of background crackle, ticks or pops. There is no distortion or loss of sound quality.
Both labels are clean and free of marks or loss.
Inner sleeve appears to be a later replacement.
Thick heavy duty outer sleeve in very clean condition with just a tad of storage rubbing and a very few darkening marks to rear. Front is especially very bright, fresh and clean still, and predominantly white rear is still very bright. No pen or sticker marks. No excessive wear or whitening. No seam splits, and edges and tips are all in really great shape, expecially for a USA sleeve of this vintage. Spine in superb condition.
All in all, a really nice example of this classic Blue Note LP.
