On a grading scale where NM is as good as it gets (factory pristine), side 1 plays in VG+ condition with light non-intrusive background crackle, as played on my sensitive system (top-of-line Basis turntable, Vector arm). Side 2 plays VG or better with a light to approaching a medium level of background crackle, which does not overwhelm the music. This LP still has nice luster & obviously has been played but not overly abused. Looks about VG+ on one side and VG on the other when held close to a bright halogen light. There are some hairline scratches but no gouges or anything that causes skipping. The album cover is clean for the vintage, with the front picture remaining quite sharp, though there is a stain on the right side, a 1" seam split at the lower right edge, and a small scrap on the rear.

Info For Wolf fans or lovers of the blues, this album is a total wow including many of the cuts that put the Wolf on the map. Fabulous fidelity, typical of these early black label issues, with the driving No Place to Go and Wolf's quintessential Smokestack Lightnin slightly ahead of the others as my favorites.
