VPRO NR.1001 MADE IN HOLLAND RECORD NM COVER EX+ INSERT ENCLOSED FUNK dutch HOUSEBAND 1st album RARE First album by the dutch funk band THE HOUSEBAND and by far the rarerst. The band originally formed as the house band of the famous Amsterdam club PARADISO and as the of the very progressive radio & TV station VPRO. This album was issued on label of the VPRO-radio, and has a standard cover on which a sticker has been put “DE HOUSE BAND, nr 1001”. This was the first out of maybe 15 albums on this label, mostly spoken word interviews. This album contains a mix of couple of radio jingles, new Orleans R&B, blues & funk. There is a great version of the JB’s GIVING UP FOOD FOR FUNK and meters instrumentals: Look-a-py-py/ Cissy strut r&b and the houseband original BABYFUNK in meters style.
