HORACE SILVER QUINTET “Horace-Scope” RVG, P, DG, Blue Note BST 84042 Stereo Vinyl
This is the 1960, first edition, Laminated Cover, “RVG STEREO” stamped, Deep Groove, P pressing of HORACE SILVER QUINTET’s “Horace-Scope” on the "47 West 63rd” labels of Blue Note BST 84042. LP 1502. Musicians include Horace Silver – piano, Blue Mitchell – trumpet, Junior Cook - tenor saxophone, Gene Taylor – bass, Roy Brooks - drums.
VINYL plays well, with occasional pops and ticks. Plays very well overall. Some distortion, Side 1, #1. Good gloss. A couple hairline marks, none feelable. The Deep Groove “47 West 63rd” labels show fading and wear. See photos.
Laminated COVER is in good shape, ringwear, corners worn. Seams and spine show cracking. “BLUE NOTE RECORDS, INC, 43 West 61st Street, New York 23, NY” back jacket shows wear. Please see photos.
This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC CLEANER.
