Description

This is becoming a rare LP. It's on the original UK red and white Deram label and it's entitled 'Story' by a band called Honeybus.

It's a stereo recording and the catalogue number is SML 1056. It was released originally in 1969. The music is exquisite and encompasses progressive, psychedelic and acid folk genres..

OUTER SLEEVE - The sleeve which is laminated on the front is in fine condition. There is minor ring wear on the front and some slight creasing. The edges and spine are show some creasing and minor wear. The wording along the spine is 100% readable. The rear of the sleeve which is not laminated and shows some wear, marks and slight discolouration due to moisture. It states on the rear of the sleeve in the bottom right hand corner 'Sleeve printed in England by Clout & Baker Ltd. Laminated with 'Clarifoil' made by British Celanese Limited'. The rear of the sleeve also features the round hole in the top right hand corner which denotes whether the record is mono or stereo when the Decca company sleeve is inserted. This one is stereo and has a blue inner sleeve. I've graded the sleeve Ex--.

INNER BAG -  Decca blue and white stereo company sleeve with clear polythene inner. It states at the bottom on one side -

British patent No.800513 Foreign patents pending. MADE IN ENGLAND R.S.    1-70. The inner bag has, I understand, been signed by Pete Dello, a member of the band with a message above his autograph although I cannot authenticate the signature. I've graded this inner bag as Ex-.

RECORD - The record plays really well on both sides with some minor surface noise and the odd pop and click especially between tracks. Both sides look quite clean and appear to have been played quite a few time. However, the record plays through with no jumps.

LABELS - The labels are the original red, white and black stereo Deram type with the unboxed Deram logos at the top. Around the circumference it states - 'ALL RIGHTS OF THE MANUFACTURER AND OF THE OWNER OF THE RECORDED WORK RESERVED - UNAUTHORISED PUBLIC PERFORMANCE BROADCASTING AND COPYING OF THIS RECORD PROHIBITED' and in the middle of the label it states 'MADE IN ENGLAND - THE DECCA RECORD CO. LTD.' The matrix numbers (ZAL 9187P - side one - and ZAL 9188P - side two) are printed above the catalogue numbers on the right hand side of the labels. There are some minor spindle marks around the holes. The labels are in fine condition with no damage. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are - side one - ZAL-9167.P-1W - side two - ZAL-9188.P-1W. I have graded the record Ex+.

I try to grade everything very conservatively and I believe that the winner of this auction will not be disappointed. I guarantee everything I sell. It will be difficult to find this record again.

THERE IS NO RESERVE ON THIS ITEM.
