Studio One presents a remastered edition of The Heptones' 1968 LP On Top, the group's second album for the legendary label. Produced by Coxsone Dodd and engineered by Sylvan Morris, it recaptures the trio's halide harmonics at their peak, with soulful vocals woven over stone-foundation reggae riddim, from 'Equal Rights', 'Heptones Gonna Fight', 'Sea Of Love', 'Pretty Looks' and more. All have been relicked and referenced across decades of reggae, and this freshened reissue restores the original tapes, preserving the warmth, subtle intricacies and fine vintage details, all qualities which certainly did help establish Studio One's oftentimes seeming monopoly on reggae greatness.
