ROCKABILLY RARITY
Here’s a great little EP that was plugged as a W.W.V.A. Jamboree Special from Island Records. That was a 1950’s radio show, that had live and local acts on every week, and you’ll hear four of them on this 1958 EP.
While many of the tracks are nice country fare, the pair of tracks that really get the attention are the two that were cut by Hardrock Gunter. You’ll hear a new version of his 1950 oldie “Birmingham Bounce” but there’s also the new track “Rock-A-Bop Baby.” This is the only record where these appeared on a 45, these were not ever on a 45 by themselves.
