This is the “RVG” etched, Laminated Cover, Deep Groove, “P” pressing of HANK MOBLEY’s “Hank Mobley Quintet” on the "47 West 63rd New York 23” labels of Blue Note BLP 1550. Musicians include Hank Mobley, Art Farmer, Horace Silver, Doug Watkins, Art Blakey.

VINYL plays with consistent loud surface noise (i.e, crackle, static, ?? or ????, relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with loud pops and ticks, some repeating. Locked groove, Side 1, #1. Two locked grooves and skips at end of #1, Side 2. Locked groove Side 2, #2. Ensemble sections are mainly clear, dynamic and strong. Okay gloss. Surface worn.  Many hairline marks, handful feelable. (If you can’t feel it, you won’t hear it). The Deep Groove “47 West 63rd New York 23” labels show discoloration, spindle wear. See photos.

LAMINATED COVER is in good shape. Corners worn. Seams and spine worn, small splits on spine and lower seam. “BLUE NOTE RECORDS, 47 West 63rd St., New York 23” back jacket shows wear, otherwise clean. Please see photos.

   

This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC CLEANER.
