Description

Guns N' Roses :  "G N' R Lies"    LP

UNCENSORED 1st US pressing (1988) on the Geffen label :  GHS 24198

RARE !!!

Complete package (wax, jacket and custom inner sleeve), all in NM- condition.

Superb wax, plays "like new".

Surely one of the most rare Guns N' Roses releases, this uncensored 1st US pressing is not to be confused with the far more common later censored pressings.

Features the original UNCENSORED jacket.  The jacket front on this, the first US pressing, reads "Wife-beating has been around for 10,000 years" on the lower left side (replaced on later pressings with "LIES! LIES! LIES!") and reads "Ladies, welcome to the dark ages" in the upper middle area (replaced on later pressings with "Elephant gives birth to midget").

This, the first US pressing, is also distinguishable from later pressings based on the inner sleeve. This, the first US pressing, has a matte-like inner paper sleeve, included here in near mint condition.  Later pressings had a glossy finish sleeve.

The "Uzi Suicide" Records call-out appears on the jacket, labels and inner sleeve.

Label sides are identified as "G" and "R" (rather than "1" and "2").

Features early live electric recordings from 1986 (Side G) and rare acoustic recordings from 1988 (Side H) ... which predate the official release of their iconic debut album "Appetite For Destruction".  Included in the 1988 material are two covers: "Nice Boys" (by Australian band Rose Tattoo) and "Mama Kin" (by Steven Tyler / Aerosmith).

Matrix numbers hand etched in the dead wax read:

Side G:   GHS-24198-A-8-SRI-DMM  Sterling

Side R:   GHS-24198-B-8-SRI-DMM  Sterling

Vinyl:  NM-  (Plays Like New)

Superb wax.  Exceptionally high gloss.

Wax plays "like new" and suffers only from very light superficial paper scuffs, which have no impact on sound quality.

Labels are clean and sharp, look "like new".

                                                                  (SEE PHOTOS)

Jacket:  NM-

Front and back color photos are rich and sharp.  High gloss remains.

A very few "dings" are seen on close examination.

Small shallow crease (approx. 1/4 inch) seen in lower right corner of jacket front (or lower left corner of jacket back).

Seams and spine are solid and clean, nearly flawless.  No splits.

Spine print is crystal clear.

My Profile / Policies:

Note:  I've qualified for the "Top Rated Plus" seal from eBay, awarded to sellers who consistently deliver outstanding customer service.

Music is my passion.  I’ve been a collector for more than 50 years and have thousands of records in my personal collection, focused largely on 50’s and 60’s rock ‘n’ roll.  Recently retired, I look to downsize and sell select portions of my collection in hopes of financing future purchases of a few special pieces.

All records I offer are from my personal collection, each cleaned using my Nitty Gritty Record Cleaning Machine.

All are play graded (not just visually graded), employing Goldmine Price Guide standards.

As I take great care to accurately describe my items, I do not accept returns unless my item description is incorrect.

All records are packaged with the wax outside the jacket (to avoid seam split in transit), enclosed in a plastic sleeve and shipped in robust record mailer boxes via USPS Media Mail, tracking included.

International customers pay shipping costs and duties per the eBay Global Shipping Program guidelines.

Payment expected within 3 business days of auction closing.
