Description
Jacket has strong gloss, clean artwork, intact readable spine and no seam splits, with only minor light surface fissures/creasing. Vinyl conservatively graded VG+ has some light scratches and a solid shine. Please note the 30 day return tag. Not play tested but I’m confident it will play fine.
Original 1987 U.S. pressing of Appetite for Destruction with the classic cross cover and original inner sleeve featuring lyrics on one side and Robert Williams’ original artwork on the reverse.
The real hook here is the pressing. This is one of the early Sterling Sound DMM cuts pressed by Specialty Records, with the distinctive SR1-DMM / SP1-1 / STERLING markings and faint E A S T embossing around the center label. In other words, this isn’t just an old copy of Appetite — it has the early-production fingerprints collectors actually want.
Side G: GHS-2 4148-A-SR1-DMM SP1-1 STERLING
Side R: GHS-2 4148-B-DMM-SR1 SP1-1 STERLING
And what a record to own in an original 1987 pressing. Welcome to the Jungle. Nightrain. Mr. Brownstone. Paradise City. Sweet Child O’ Mine. Rocket Queen. Most bands would sell a kidney for one song that good. Guns N’ Roses stacked an entire debut album with them.
That’s what makes this copy special: the early Sterling mastering, the Specialty pressing details, the original inner, and one of the most explosive debut albums ever cut to vinyl all in one package.
This is the kind of Appetite for Destruction that feels right in a serious collection.
