Description

GUIDED BY VOICES Propeller LP
Rockathon, no cat#

The time has come to sell my original copy of Propeller, I'm just as happy with the reissue and my family needs the money. Unfortunately, this is not the best copy. When we were putting together "Box" for release, we did not have the original artwork so we had to scan existing jackets. This is the unfortunate part - the service bureau had to cut all the album covers in two so that they could be bent onto a drum type scanner. So this jacket comes in two pieces, front and back (though both are flat, the scanning did not result in damage, just the preparation). There is also white printer's tape, 2" to 3" long, at the mid point of the left and right edges of the front cover. There is a tape stain at the middle top edge. There is a tape stain over the number (see 3rd pic down), it was covered with printer's tape during that scan. On the back there is no tape, but at the bottom and top seam you can feel roughness where it was once attached. The album is in a new poly outer sleeve, which conveniently holds everything together and you can almost forget that the jacket was deconstructed. Well, almost.

The record itself is in good shape, it would grade EX (used but not abused, a few faint marks only visible under bright direct light). Very clean, no dust.

This is an original copy, #80 of 500, and the run-out inscriptions are correct (Rep's old age/no age squiggle, Propeller side A, etc). It was sent to me by Bob himself in 1992 and inspired me to ask him to release future albums on my label. The rest, as the saying goes, is history.

Record will be shipped double-boxed with delivery confirmation. Enter your zip code in the calculator to determine cost for your location. I would recommend registered mail (add'l $8-$12 depending on value) rather than insurance (USPS rarely pays claims) if you are concerned about safety or loss. Please note I insure through stamps.com, not USPS, so you will not see an insurance stamp on the box. After auction close we can discuss various options (I can also ship Fedex or UPS if you prefer) and I will let you know the cost.
