Please note if you receive a 78 record in the mail and it is broken we will refund your money. Please let us know immediately and if you can please email us a picture of the damage so that we can see if it was us or shipping including shipping box. We will package 78s with the best packaging possible from bags unlimited. Insurance is also available so please let us know if you would like it in the notes section before buying. Buyer pays for all insurance costs unless you would like a credit on your next order. All extra expense for shipping is added into the cost. Including extra padding and box.

Grading Scale for LP's and 45's

(M) - PERFECT RECORD, CLEAN GLOSS, NO MARKS, BEAUTIFUL IN EVERY WAY VERY FEW RECORDS WILL EVER MAKE MINT.

(M-) - LIKE NEW. A GREAT RECORD FOR MOST COLLECTORS. (VG++) VERY LIGHT SCRATCHES ONLY, NICE GLOSS, PLAYS WITH NO SKIPS, NO SCUFFS AND HARDLY ANY SURFACE NOISES. (VG+) - LIGHT SCRATCHES ONLY, NICE GLOSS, MAY PLAY WITH SOME SURFACE NOISES, BUT STILL LOOKS VERY NICE.

(VG) - STILL A NICE RECORD, LOOK A BIT MORE USED or WORN, LIGHT SCRATCHES, NO GOUGES, STILL PLAYS WELL, MAY PLAY WITH SOME SURFACE NOISE.

(VG-) - ROUGH BUT WILL PLAY OK, MORE PRONOUNCED or HEAVIER SURFACE NOISES,  FILLS THE COLLECTION.

(G) - PLAYS ROUGH, HAS MULTIPLE SCRATCHES,  THE HEAVIEST SURFACE NOISES, WHAT A BARGAIN!


The VJM Record Grading System for grading 78s.
N (78) As new and unplayed (there are hardly any 78s that haven't been previously played).

N- (78) Nearly Mint, but has been played. No visible signs of wear or damage.

E+ (78) Plays like new, with very, very few signs of handling, such as tiny scuffs from being slipped in and out of jackets.

E (78) Still very shiny, near new looking, with no visible signs of wear, but a few inaudible scuffs and scratches.

E- (78) Still shiny but without the lustre of a new record, few light scratches.

V+ (78) V+ is an average condition 78 in which scuffs and general use has dulled the finish somewhat. Wear is moderate but playing is generally free from distortion. Surface noise not overly pronounced.

V (78) Moderate, even wear throughout, but still very playable. Surface noise and scratches audible but not intrusive.

V- (78) Quite playable still, but distortion and heavy greying in loud passages. Music remains loud in most passages. Surface noise and scratches well below music level.

G+ (78). Grey throughout but still serviceable. Music begins to sound muffled. Heavy scratches.

G (78). Quite seriously worn and scratched, but music level is still higher than surface noise.

G- (78). Music still prominent, but wear and scratch damage extensive.

F (78). Most of music remains audible over surface noise, but listening now uncomfortable.

P (78). Unplayable.
