Description
Volume one (of three that I know of on TOHO records - I also am offering volumes two and three here in EBAY, as well as two more 'Godzilla/monster/sci-fi soundtrack albums on the Toshiba Records imprint) of collected music by the renowned composer Akira Ifukube. Beautiful package and music! The cover features the original paper band that came with most 1960s Japanese records (it is the silver paper stripe obscuring part of the cover in the photos above - it is removable of course), and if you read Japanese, it will also tell you the selections that appear on the record, most of which, if not all, are from the first Gojira film. I love Japanese pressings - always well-mastered and quiet, and this is no exception, the vinyl sounds great!
Also typical of Toho records - it contains a 12 X 12" four-page booklet crammed with photos and information, and, as I discovered when I was photographing this - they also included a lovely 20 X 29-inch POSTER of Gojira-pal (shown above, photo #6) that I had completely forgotten was even inside the cover - I never play it! I almost hate to let the poster go - it's very cool!
A delightful package - I love the green record label with the cartoon of Godzilla - sweet!
Very minimal wear on the cover, clean record. A monstrous good time.
