George Strait Limited Edition 10LP box set "Strait Out Of The Box" MCA Records (2019)
#44/1000
The complete box set.
Plus, a "Sealed" copy of Volume 4, A VG copy of "Honky Tonk Time Machine", A 5x7 photo, A collectors card, A window sticker, and an Autographed photo of George Strait.
The autograph appears to be from a fine point Sharpie on an 8x10 publicity photo. The back is yellowed from age, and there is a bend on the bottom right corner.
Just like what others have reported, Volume 4 side B plays the tracks from Volume 5 side B.
Therefore, I have included a sealed copy of Volume 4 (2019), which may or may not have the same issue.
I recommend keeping the original "vol. 4" because misprint records can increase in value.
The wooden box has some mild wear, with the worst being the splintered edge of the lid (circled in one of the photos). This can be easily repaired with a little sanding and polyurethane or kept original.
"Honky Tonk Time Machine" VG Vinyl has light hairlines and scuffs. Mild bends on the bottom right corner of cover.
*All the LP's in the "Strait Out Of The Box" collection, I will say, are graded at least a VG+. Other sellers might have given them a higher grade.
***Update: Since listing the George Strait "Strait Out Of The Box" collection, I have had the chance to play test the LPs in it.
I played them on a newer model, Audio-Technica turntable.
As reported by others in reviews on sites like Discogs, the center hole on a few of the LPs are a little too small, and extra care is needed when placing them on and removing them from the turntable.
All of the records sounded great, and play grade from VG+ to NM. There were NO skips and they played through nicely.
Even with the manufacturing defects, it is still a great collection for a George Strait fan and will likely increase in value as the years go by.
*All LP's have some degree of light scuffs from being pulled in and out of the cover. Some have a couple of very light hairlines, and some have fingerprints.
*Vol. 1 has some crinkling around the center hole on side 1
*Vol. 6 has some marks on the front cover above the hat.
*Vol. 7 is missing a little more than an inch of glue on the top seam, likely a manufacturer flaw.
*I'd grab this highly sought-after copy with the low number of 44 because another chance may not come along.
