Description

A genuine very 1st press of Wonderwall on Apple from 1968. In fact, the 1st album ever released on Apple records. Matrix A1/B3 [1st cut]. Stampers 1G/1P - placing it amongst the 1st few thousand copies ever pressed. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original 'stereo' 1st issue thick card cover with inverted image on the rear. The inversion is no printing mistake - this was how the artwork was envisaged. We also have the original black/white Apple insert with track listing credits and the Apple Savile Row address. There's a black inner sleeve too - to my mind this is not the original Apple inner [it looks like a replica].
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) In lovely condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of very light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome.  A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of deviations on side 1. The audio contained in these grooves, here, is exceptionally fussy. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. By and large a clean player. Most tracks play back to a very high standard - particularly on side 2. On side 1 - there is a low-level issue which crops up intermittently. 'Microbes' plays back nicely - but there is what I would describe as "low-level rumble/flutter" beneath the audio, intermittently. It's not upfront, or invasive - but for those with keen ears you might find it a little distracting. This issue reappears to a lesser extent in the some of the quieter moments in Tabla. Overall the record plays back with very little interference - just a few crackles on the intro to 'Dream'. Providing you can live with some of this minor stuff on side 1 the LP, overall, plays to a high standard.
Cover (Ex-) Can be found in quite a varying level of condition. Front and back are very nice and flat with relatively little sign of ageing - just a couple of thumbnail creases on the front toward the opening. The rear is looking really nice - nigh on perfect. Edge wear is very minor for this title and the openings are still nice and sharp. The spine is really good with all text legible - just a touch of ageing at the bottom end. Overall it still retains excellent rigidity.
Insert (Ex-) Hasn't aged - which is nice! One crease top left. Nice looking really.
Inner (Ex) Lovely condition. No splits.
