Description

Here's an outstanding item for the Beatles Collector - an original TEST PRESSING of the FIRST pressing of the first LP in the 'All Things Must Pass' box set by George Harrison... complete with original Apple Custom Recording labels and handwritten titles!
Both labels are handwritten in black biro and contain the titles for each side plus the catalogue number, STCH 639 and 'SIDE 1' or 'SIDE 2'.
The side one label has come unglued over the passing years, revealing the original pressing plant plain white label underneath. This is hand-marked in black ink with both an 'A' in a circle (crossed out) and a '1' in a circle. The Apple label which was stuck over it is still part of the auction set and can, if wanted, be easily stuck back in place.
The side 2 label is still stuck down. The number '2' in a circle which was written onto the plain white label can be seen underneath the Apple label (see close-up pic).
The record has a plain white sleeve on which is handwritten 817/818 (those are the matrix numbers of this LP). I'm not certain why, but the sleeve also has the word 'justice' written on it. On the other side of the white sleeve are notes - and again, I don't know why - about the tracks to be found on the third disc of the original box set. The names 'Jean' and 'Brian' are written on a sticker on the top right corner. I don't know who these people are or were!
The all-important matrix number on side one is YEX - 817 - 1U and, on side two, YEX - 818 - 1U. The letters I and G are also stamped on the runouts. These are MACHINE STAMPED and not hand written.
The record is in, I would say, VG condition. There are a handful of small marks on side one, but none of these affect play in the slightest. Side two is less marked - very clean, actually - and both sides play really well. There is a little bit of crackle before the first track on side one.
Any questions, please feel free to send me a message. Thanks and good luck!
