Description
On offer here is the George Harrison 7" Single on UK Apple Records from 1971 called Bangladesh. This comes with the INCREDIBLY RARE PICTURE SLEEVE which was withdrawn on release.This has to be one of Harrison's rarest records as these picture sleeves are virtually impossible to locate.
The sleeve is numbered R5912, and is made of thick card typical of Apple releases around this time.Perhaps Apple withdrew the sleeve in the UK because they thought the picture may distress some people who may not want to view starving refugees.This however did not damage the sales of the record which sold well, all funds going to UNICEF for the Bangladesh famine relief.
In the corner of the sleeve is the print Curtesy Popperfoto.The sleeve is in VG+ condition with minimal wear, but there is a 1cm split at the top opening , as can be seen on the photos, hence the grading.The record has been well played and is visually VG. Side 1 plays VG with light surface noise and Side 2 to Good Condition with a few clicks and static.
However the importance of this item is the sleeve, not the record.You can upgrade the record for only a few pounds.BUT WHEN WILL YOU SEE THIS UK SLEEVE AGAIN.These sleeves hardly ever turn up.DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS MASSIVE HARRISON RARITY.
