Bob Dylan George Harrison Unreleased Alternate One Sided Acetate Version of a Side of a then unissued 2 LP version of the 3 LP Box Set from 1971 known as "The Concert For Bangla Desh" Apple STCX 3385
This is a 12" one sided alternate acetate. It was created to quickly create a playable disk from a master tape and has no labels. This acetate does contain live performances from the 1971 Concert for Bangla Desh performance in the following order:
1) Bob Dylan - "It Takes A Lot To Laugh, It Takes A Train to Cry" 2) Bob Dylan - "Blowin In the Wind" 3) Bob Dylan - "Mr Tamborine Man" 4) Bob Dylan - "Just Like A Woman" 5) George Harrison - "Something" 6) George Harrison - "Bangla Desh"
This is part of a selection of Apple LP acetates from the collection of a former Apple Records Promotions executive from as early as 1970. Most of the acetates obtained from this collection have standard acetate labels but some of these acetates originate from even earlier in the audio review stage of record production and have no labels at all. These unlabeled reference acetates have to be listened to on a record player in order to determine what they are.
This is one of those unlabeled reference acetates. At this point my best guess is that this acetate originates from when the producer Phil Spector was still deciding how many disks were to be included in the "Concert for Bangla Desh" LP as well as what mixes and songs were going to be on each side of what would ultimately become one of the most iconic three record sets ever released.
This disk was originally owned by producer Phil Spector.
