Description Of Item For Sale: Certainly a 1st pressing,I was just looking at Ebay completed listings to see if any that I had lined up to stick in a job lot would maybe make a few quid,then I came across one of these that had made about £150,so much to my suprise,I thought,this is a nice one,I don't mind selling it,I am not mad on the music,so here it is!.I understand from the other sellers listing that having this paricular Matrix number,and also Porky,and Pecko are of significance,and also the mad hatter label from 1972.Mine has all of this.Also,An E J Day sleeve,and the text; Marketed by B&C Records Ltd,37 Soho Square,London W1.Written on the sppine are the words GENESIS,FOXTROT AND CAS 1058 STEREO,In RED Writing.This seems to be important,the words are pristine and in no way faded.It all seems to be here.I am in no way an expert,I hope for good money,I urge you to Email any questions,you know what you want to know,I don't.Sorry for a lack of detailed photographs,my camera simply won't do that detail.

This is the first record to use the Mad Hatter Label,I take the info from the Nick Hamlyn Penguin Price Guide,here is a brief extract:

The Charisma Label began in 1969 as something of a progressive rock specialist label.Most of the early albums are collectable,although the label lacked the sureness of touch of Island or Vertigo,and a few releases are hardly sought after at all.Until 1972,the label design features a large scroll logo on deep-pink background and first pressings of early albums by the likes of Audience,Van Der Graaf Generator and Genesis have this label.

A new design,featuring a cartoon mad hatter on a pale-pink label,began with the album Foxtrot by Genesis(CAS 1058).

So there you have it Bernie,1st use of the Mad Hatter label,perhaps that is why some collectors pay good money,maybe Charisma completests,but in response to your question,this is a first pressing label.Thanks for raising the point.

I won't cut any corners with packing,this will be quite a heavy item,maybe postage will be a little higher than some of my other recods currently on sale,but records this rare need special care.I advise you take some sort of postal insurance,I have not listed prices,but the price and options for Royal Mail are available at www.Royalmail.com. Condition:

Sleeve- Excellent+.This is a textured sleeve made by the E.J. Group.Has no rips,stains,scribbles splits,the spine is perfect,and the gatefold has suffered no damage from being held open too widely,which often causes damage to the spine.The opening is not feathered as would happen with heavy use.This record came from a man who had other records in top condition,he either looked after the records very well,or never played them much.Either way,this is a real gem.

Vinyl- Excellent +++.Lovely and shiny,plays superbly.No deep scratches,nice and glossy,some light paper scuffs,but very little.I heard a few light crackle noises at he start of side 2,but after that,there are no clicks,pops sticks jumps,plays lovely.

Labels- I cautiously say'Near Mint',I can't see they have any signs of a spindle mark,I have seen new labels in worse order.

Innersleeve-Excellent.Despite some slight crinckles,this innersleeve is not split,and is a lovely clean original Charisma innersleeve.I won't send the record in this sleeve to avoid the original spliting,I will use another sleeve I have,so you will see when the record arrives,this is the one which came originally with the record.

Extra Items,e.g.Poster,Insert-NONE.

All Items are Graded As In The Record Collector 2006 Price Guide,in Brief these grades are as folows:

Mint-Unplayed,sealed or as good as an unplayed undamaged item,.

Excellent-Some signs the record has been played,very little lessening in sound quality.Cover/Packaging might have slight wear/creasing.

Very Good-Been Played many times,no major deterioration in sound,despite noticeable surface marks,occational light scratch.Normal wear & tear on the cover or extra items,without major defect is acceptable.

Good-Played so much,used so much,sounds bad,many problems such as splits,stains etc.

Fair-Just Playable-not nice.
