Guns N' Roses : Appetite For Destruction 1-A / 1-B 1st Press (Europe) w/ uncensored cover 1987

This first pressing from Europe plays with stunning quality with barely any background.  I have played every track in full and as you can see from my grading below the clarity, depth and power of the audio is superb.  There are 3/4 quiet dull clicks at the end of the fade out but that is the only obvious intrusion.  This record has only been lightly played and that is reflected in the sonic quality on offer here, it really does play to such a high standard.

The uncensored cover is in superb condition with only minimal wear and the original lyric inner just has some light creasing here and there.

As stated on the back cover it says Manufactured in Germany by Record Service GmbH, Alsdorf etc.  The UK catalogue number also appears on the back cover, spine and labels.

Visual description

This vinyl is in excellent condition and still has a strong glossy sheen with no scratches.  Under a bright light I can see some faint hairlines and just a little mottling but nothing that affect the audio.  Looking at it in 'normal' lighting it looks superb!  The labels are unmarked and have only very minimal spindle wear.

Play grading

The intro on 'Welcome To The Jungle' has only a couple of light ticks at the start and the first riff then plays perfectly.  Rose's opening vocal section is faultless and it continues to play with supreme power and depth with literally nothing to detract from audio.  The sonic quality is so strong and there is no distortion on the top end either.  A superb start.  An Ex+ intro and then Mint from then on.

'It's So Easy' plays with genuine quality from the get go.  Every vocal and instrumental is 'as new' including the quieter 'moments'.  This is Mint from start to finish.

The intro and opening vocal on 'Nightrain' have no interference and this high level is kept up as it progresses.  You can only admire the quality of the audio here.  There are 3/4 quiet dull sounding clicks but this is at the end of the fade out so hardly intrusive.  I will say Near Mint but 99.5% plays to perfection.

'Out Ta Get Me' and 'Mr. Brownstone' both play with stunning precision and grade as Mint - there is no background at all.

The intro on the classic 'Paradise City' plays with perfect clarity and the opening chorus is equal to that.  The following instrumental section is flawless and the depth and power of the audio here is stunning.  The next vocal keeps up the standard and it continues to play with such impressive audio for a final track.  The high octane end section plays with great power and there is only a minor amount of inner groove distortion.  Mint- is still a fair assessment of the audio.

The gentle intro on 'My Michelle' plays so clearly with only a handful of barely audible dust ticks and then the main bulk of the track plays with incredible power and depth and no interference.  3/4 mega quiet statics at most.  Mint-

'Think About You' plays with stunning quality throughout with zero background and grades as Mint

The classic intro on 'Sweet Child O' Mine' has no intrusion as such, just a small number of light statics at the beginning.  The opening vocal is 'as new' and it continues in the same exact way.  The playback is phenomenal, so powerful and loud and there is no distortion.  The 'Where do we go now...' section can only be described 'as new' and through to the end it plays with real quality, just a hint of light static right at the end.  The intro is Ex but the rest has to grade as Mint- at the very least.  A superb dynamic version.

'You're Crazy' and 'Anything Goes' play loud and true with... no interference.  In essence they could not play any better, both as strong sonically as when first released in '87.  Mint

'Rocket Queen' ends this fine debut with high end audio once more.  Great power and depth and the clarity of sound cannot be faulted either.  The sonic quality is phenomenal and even the 'quieter' verse towards the end plays with sublime precision.  Right to the very end it plays so well and there is no distortion.  A superb Mint version in my opinion.

The Cover & Lyric Inner

The uncensored cover is in superb condition with very little wear and certainly nothing obvious.  The edges are so clean with only a couple of tiny rubs and the spine is practically perfect.  The corners are very clean as is the opening edge which has only a small section of light crimping on the back.  The front cover is unmarked with just one small corner crease bottom left and the back cover is super clean also.  A fine example of this iconic cover.

The lyric inner has no side splits or marking.  It has some creasing here and there and one tiny rub on the bottom edge.

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping.  This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage.  The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered.  Any over-payment will always be refunded.

The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD).  An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known.  Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing.  Please wait for the invoice before making payment and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.  Many thanks.

All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection.  They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection.  I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.

The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each.  There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up!  Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
