GRATEFUL DEAD 1st LP RARE MONO Psych Garcia

This record is an extremely rare gold label Warner Brothers lp of "The Grateful Dead" with their initial first album on Warner Bros. W-1689 MONO label! It is in mono format which is clearly indicated on top of front cover and on the label itself. It even says "monophonic." on the cover and "monaural" on the label. This is a Classic U.S.A. Pressing of the group's first legendary LP! Record is in as close to NEAR MINT Condition that I have ever seen of this insanly rare pressing...I have seen only a few of these and they usually destroyed beyond redemption! The label has only 1 identifiable spindle line on it or it would appear to have been unplayed!! Jacket is in MINT- condition.(HOWEVER: There is a very small brass hollow rivit in the upper left hand corner. Minor but worth mentioning. It looks like a tiny b-b. They were used as a sorta cut-out at the time.). NO SPLIT SEEMS and the spine and seams are solid!! Only a hint of ring wear on the very bottom. This is a highly desirable lp for those avid Dead collectors interested in the more valuable and unique items. The only other lp of greater value is the green wax version of Wake of the Flood, as listed in the Goldmine price guide. Note: Unless otherwise stated, all records are graded on a visual basis using the Goldmine grading guide.
Grading System:
Mint (M): Absolutely perfect in every way - never played, possibly sealed. ( Mint grading used sparingly if at all)
Near Mint (NM or M-): Near Mint is the highest grade listed in all Goldmine guides. Many dealers won’t give a grade higher than this, implying (perhaps correctly) that no record is ever truly perfect. The record shows no obvious signs of wear. Lp should look new, just purchased. No creases, folds, seam splits or visual defects.
Very Good Plus (VG +): Very Good Plus will show signs that it was played, and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Record surfaces may show slight signs of wear and may have scuffs or light scratches that don’t affect one’s listening experience. (Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK)
Very Good (VG): Many of the defects found in VG + will be more pronounced on a VG disc. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during intros and fades, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as with light scratches that will affect the sound. This is the lowest price grade used by Goldmine listings.
Good (G) Good Plus (G+): Good does not mean Bad! A record in Good condition can be played without skipping, but will have significant surface noise and scratches and visible groove wear (on a styrene record the groove will start to turn white). The jacket or sleeve will have seam splits (on edges). Tape, writing, ring wear, or other defects that overwhelm the object. If it is a common record, pass it up for another. If it is a rare hard to find record and the price is right, get it…but keep looking to upgrade.
Poor (P): Basically unplayable and should only be considered if the record is Impossible to find.
