Description

Here's that ultimate rarity, a Black Female preacher - the REV. LEORA ROSS, and her CHURCH OF THE LIVING GOD JUBILEE SINGERS.  She blesses and praises Lucky Lindy, in "GOD'S MERCY ON COLONEL LINDBERGH" and sings gloriously on "LOVE LIFTED ME."  She is as good as Rev. J. M. Gates, which is saying a LOT!

This original 1927 "Race" OKeh 8541 is in beat, G condition. Normally, I don't sell records in such shape, but the rarity of this lady preacher, and her fascinating prayer on behalf of Col. Lindbergh, and the fact that I've NEVER seen another copy, make this an exception.  Record is quite worn, but no cracks, digs or skips.

The yellow numbers stamped neatly in the "dead wax" on both sides indicate that this record once was owned by the late DON BROWN, of "JAZZ MAN RECORDS" fame! His Jazz Man Record Shop was one of the focal points for collectors in Los Angeles for over thirty years.  I was one of them!

*****

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing!  My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value.  I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all.  If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will!  Shipping is done with expert care. Your record will brave Media Mail in a stout corregated box, between four sheets of cardboard and a couple of “packers.”  I hope you are amused by these descriptions, and by the quality of service being offered.
