Vinko Globokar's most rare album by far released in former Yugoslavia on the ZKP-RTL label. A mixture of avant-garde compositions, electronics and experimental techniques.

Some info on the release:  Extremely rare and almost unknown yugoslavian record by french composer of slovenian origin, Vinko Globokar released on the ZKP-RTL label. Features his first large-scale work, composed in 1965 - 1966, was Voie for narrator, chorus, and orchestra, a complex score with a text by the dynamic Russian poet Mayakovsky and was a forerunner of other works filled with social commentary, questions of humanism, and soulful poetry, such as Les emigrés and L'armonia drammatica. On the other side is presented his Airs de voyages vers l'intérieur for eight voices, clarinet, trombone, and electronics. Globokar's music is notable for its spontaneity, energy, and innovative use of unorthodox instrumental and compositional techniques. His works often feature indeterminacy and improvisation, reflecting his own background in Jazz and free improvisation. His timbral palette is extremely diverse, and his pieces employ an often astounding array of extended techniques. For example, in his solo percussion piece Toucher, the performer narrates a story while simultaneously playing the syllabic patterns on a percussion array.

Vinko Globokar is one of 20th Century's most important improvisors and composers. His composer works have been released from DGG Avant Garde series, Harmonia Mundi, BASF, FMP (Han Bennink, Peter Brotzmann, Moshlang-Guhl, Yoshi Wada, Michael Waisvisz, Hugh Davies, Radu Malfatti, Stephan Wittwer), while he was a founding member of the great improvising group New Phonic Art back in 1969 and recorded a couple of records with them on Wergo and Deutsche Grammophon. As a performer he was specialized in trombone, but had a wide knowledge of other musical instruments too. He inspired composers as Karlheinz Stockhausen, Mauricio Kagel and Luciano Berio to write works especially for him. A highlight is considered Kagel's "Atem / Morceau de Concours". He made his studies at the Paris Conservatory and then studied composition and conducting with René Leibowitz and Luciano Berio in Berlin (1965). He founded both the Free Music Group and the New Phonic Art quartet that performed new music. As a trombonist, he has premiered works by Luciano Berio, Mauricio Kagel, Karlheinz Stockhausen, René Leibowitz, and Toru Takemitsu, as well as his own compositions.

Vinko Globokar belongs to the great avant-garde/experimental composers "wave" that appeared in Europe in the 60's/70's/80's with main representators composers like Hans Werner Henze, Pierre Boulez, György Kurtág, Wolfgang Rihm, Helmut Lachenmann and Salvatore Sciarrino, Heinz Holliger, Brian Ferneyhough, and Nicolaus A. Huber, György Ligeti and Bruno Maderna, Henri Pousseur or more widely Bernd Alois Zimmermann, John Cage, Bruno Maderna, Jani Christou, Iannis Xenakis and of course Pendercki.

Condition: Vinyl lies in excellent condition, looks very clean and plays nicely all along with the exception of some occasional noises on a couple of moments, while cover lies in very good(+) condition, is very clean, but a bad looking split on the spine and a small bend on the topright corner.
