Description
GLENN GOULD (1971) THE IDEA OF NORTH (A SOUND DOCUMENTARY) The 'Idea of North'(A Sound Documentary) was commissioned as a centennial project of the CBC Radio 'IDEAS' series and first broadcast in 1967. A film adaptation - co-produced by the Canadian Broadcasting Cororation and National Educational Television was prepared in 1970. Glenn Gould wrote the extensive liner notes that explain this project, based on his life-long fascination of the geographic North. He is the narrator for the hour long program of this great radio series that continues week-nights across the CBC network to this day. His five guests were all interviewed separately, and never met during the making of what Gould refers to as "NORTH". What this is, is a wonderful rare and collectable recording of one of the legendary names of the greatest classical pianists of the last century. It was recorded by the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Company) on their own label in the CBC LEARNING SYSTEMS series of LP's. Number T-56997-8 and the vinyl is in EXCELLENT to ALMOST LIKE NEW condition. The cover has some ringwear and a name written on the top back. It is otherwise in good shape. With Gould being the man behind this documentary there is one certainty - it cannot be 'ordinary'.
