August 31, 1963 is the earliest specifically noted date, Van Morrison's 18th birthday, celebrated in Heidelberg, West Germany while on tour with "The International Monarchs". Recorded at Ariola Studios,Cologne, W. Germany ("Boo-Zooh"/"O Twingy Baby" [both credited to Bob Elger], recorded under the name Georgie and The Monarchs; first appearance of Van on record, sax only; single released only in Germany & Holland; an 18-year old Van just recognizable on the extreme left of the cover in a ridiculous hat. Als Begleitmusiker am Saxophon bei Georgie and the monarchs“ begann 1963 die musikalische Laufbahn des Van Morrison. (d.h. seine erste Plattenaufnahme). 1965 gründete er die Gruppe THEM und 1967 startete er seine Solokarriere.
