George Romanos – Two Small Blue Horses – Zodiac SYZP 88010
For auction is without doubt one of the rarest psychedelic albums ever released. Issued in 1970 on the tiny Zodiac label, this is the original first pressing in fully laminated cover, NOT the 1980’s reissue (please see link below for difference in label text and serial number details)

Unfortunately, it has come to a point where I can no longer afford to have this beautiful LP sitting on my shelf any longer. I have added a modest start price but please be aware – this rarely ever appears on the market and not in this amazingly preserved condition.
Condition
Cover - EX
The sleeve is fully laminated (all intact) and there is the smallest hint of ring wear on the front if examined in bright light. All edges are intact and strong other than a small graze on the spine near the lowest ‘O’ (see photograph). Otherwise the cover is in astonishingly clean and crisp condition.
Vinyl - EX / VG +
I did a full playback of the LP yesterday to give the clearest indication of quality. I have been very conservative as I know opinions differ wildly on this subject. Overall there is no deterioration in sound, as amazingly clear as if it were pressed yesterday. Visually there are three scuffs (not scratches) on the A side, one scuff on the B side and a near invisible, tiny hairline. This doesn’t detract from the fact that the sound is absolutely crystal clear and the vinyl is generally untouched and lustrous.
Labels – NM
Clean, bright, un-faded, un-marked paper labels with no wear. Perfect.

Additional information about the LP
George Romanos began his career singing songs composed by Manos Hadjidakis inside the traditions of folk Greek music.
In 1970 the album "Dyo mikra gallazia aloga" (Two Small Blue Horses) was released. Nowadays it is considered as one of the best Greek rock albums of all times.
Its style is deeply acid and psychedelic, with some Greek, ethnic elements. Alekos Karakantas (the guitar player) made lots of musical experimentations and effects in combination with the vocal distortions of George Romanos, which were unconventional to the Greek rock stage of the time.
The album is full of distorted wha wha and fuzz pedals which in combination of the Mediterranean touches and the excellent and solid Romano vocals make this album a great example of non-Western psych.
Albums like this remind us that psych rock and even rock in general, were not, since the very beginning purely Anglo Saxon musical pop manifestations.
