GEN'L J.J. PERSHING "From the Battlefields of France" National Forum 78 RPM-1918

Description

Record collectors and WW I history buffs are familiar with this rare recording. General Pershing's speech is short, appealing for the "unshrinking support" of America but the reverse side, by James W. Gerard, Ambassador to Germany, is bombastic and, in today's terms. totally politically incorrect. It is titled "LOYALTY" and is a speech that he repeated around the country, threatening to hang pro-German sympathizers from the nearest lamp post if they take sides against America. It's an historical speech that represents the country's feelings at the time.
The record is in excellent  shape and includes the General's etched signature (see photo).
