Description
This is a very rare, two-sided test pressing of Genesis’ ‘Entangled’ manufactured by Specialty Records on April 20, 1976 for ATCO Records, and taken from the 'Trick of the Tail' album. One side contains the long version of approximately 6:18 backed with the short version at about 3:18. The hand written label copy refers to the title as ‘Entangles’ on both sides and the correct catalog number of 7050.
This test pressing was sent for evaluation purposes to WEA Music of Canada, ATCO Records’ Canadian distributor, to illustrate what an edited version of the song would sound like compared to the original longer version. The short version was released as a 45 backed with ‘Ripples’ in Canada and the long version was released in the US..
Condition of vinyl and labels are virtually mint. The vinyl is considerably thinner than a standard 45. There is some dust crackle on the ‘B’ side but no major faults to the record. The plain white sleeve has a number on the top left and right corners.
This record is unique and one of only a handful that were made. You likely have this chance only to add this to your collection. Good luck.
