Description
I'm selling some selected records from my personal collection of original first pressings. My goal has always been to find the best possible copy out there. Especially with the cover condition you will often realize it would be pretty impossible to find a better copy anywhere.
Up for sale is a US first pressing of Funkadelic's masterpiece "Maggot Brain", released by Westbound Records in November 1971, catalogue no WB 2007. This is the real deal, this is P-Funk history!
In my experience this is one of the most delicate covers out there. The infamous "Unipak" gatefold packaging is very fragile and prone to wear, especially at the edges and corners. This copy is almost pristine, the cover surface (it's a matte, almost textured cover) basically looks brand new, and there's very little corner and spine wear that doesn't have an impact on the amazing overall appearance. I'm sure many sellers would grade this cover NM, and given the fragile nature of the material and packaging, it would probably be accurate. Just being conservative here. "Maggot Brain" copies rarely turn up in this cover condition, definitely no need to upgrade after this.

A very well cared for record with only a few scuffs, looks great and sounds incredibly good. Matrix/Runout : WB-2007-B1-1-1 Canadian LTD. Please note: Despite the matrix info, this is not the Canadian but the US first pressing. Record comes in an anti-static sleeve which is probably the original one from 1971 as well.
