'Tons Of Sobs' album by Free

Rare 1969 pink label with black & orange 'circle' or 'eye' logo vinyl LP

First pressing Island ILPS 9089 Matrix A2, B2

This album comes from my personal collection and has been stored upright and indoors in a smoke and pet-free home. It comes with an anti-static 'Toner' inner sleeve and outer plastic jacket cover.

I have played the album on a Rega 3-24 with Ortofon cartridge, at reasonably loud volume to provide the below description, which I believe is fair and trustworthy. I consider myself to be quite fussy about condition. However please be aware you may have a different opinion as it is subjective and depends on your own level of criteria.

Condition: Good+

The vinyl retains its shine but with perhaps a little dulling from age. There are signs of wear due to removal from sleeve and marks from general handling over time (46 years old!). Although there is minor surface noise evident in places throughout the album, there are no audible scratches, and no skips or jumps.

The minor surface noise is most evident during the beginning on Side 1 during the very quiet opening track with minor 'clicks' and 'pops'. If you listen carefully there is some minor degradation or distortion towards the end of the last track on Side 1.

You can hear minor surface noise in the silent breaks between each track on both sides, so it follows that surface noise must run throughout the entire album even though it's not apparent.

Side 2 does not appear to have been played as much, as towards the end of the side there is no degradation, even in the quieter sections of songs.

Sonic quality seems undimmed, the whole album sounds really great, and for me personally the above descriptive audio grading does not intrude substantially during play and the album is an enjoyable listening experience.

The cover is in very good condition, with no tears, creases, pen or sticker marks. The front cover shows signs of general age/use as expected of an album of this age but is in excellent condition.

The pictures give an accurate reproduction of the condition.
