Description
Blue note 4027 with 47 West 63rd St. address on both labels; 43 West 61st address on the bottom of the back cover. The music was composed by Redd for the play, "The Connection", by Hacj Gelber. The play with its theme of drug addiction was very contraversial at the time of its production. The record has "ear" and "RVG" inscribed on the dead wax. Deep groove on both sides. 7 tracks features Jackie McLean, alto sax; Michael Matlas, bass; Larry Ritchie, drums. Original issue. Cover: VG+. Intact with some aging on the cover. Also some dark irregular stain on the bottom of the back cover. This appears to be mold though there is no sign of water damage on either the front or the back cover. The stain partially covers a small part of the text. Gloss finished front cover. Record: VG+. Visually shows very light wear with a few very light brush-like surface marks on both sides. Audibly there are some clicks and crackles throughout but mainly on the 1st track on Side 1 and tracks 1-2 on Side 2. In spite of this surface noise, music is listenable. Audibly checked.
