Description

Flipper, Album Generic Flipper LP 1983 (with Extras) ~ Subterranean Records SUB 25, 12” 33⅓ RPM Vinyl LP

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For auction is the album by Flipper, Album Generic Flipper. Released by Subterranean Records in 1982. Research show me this is variant 1 of April 1982, mastered at Greg Lee Processing, 27,981 pressed. The sticker on the shrink wrap tells me that I bought this for $5.99.
Flipper is and was among my all-time favorite bands and I want to tell you a story. The third time I’d seen Flipper was in the Rathskeller in Kenmore Square in Boston. It was somewhere in the early 1980s. The previous two times I saw them (the first time at the Rathskeller) were great but this time, before I got inside, I knew the show was going to be somehow different. The band was on the stage as I came in and it was obvious the lead singer was drunk. The band was just tuning up, playing listlessly. People were throwing coins at the lead singer while he complained, shouting that they should throw dimes and quarters, not pennies and nickels. This continued for a few minutes, all the while the lead singer grew more belligerent, and he was soon throwing coins back at the audience. Someone got up on the stage (It was maybe as much as a foot higher than the audience floor.) and a fight started. That was the end of the show, finished before it started. Total elapsed time ~ maybe five minutes. It was one of the most exciting and best, as well as most memorable shows, that I ever saw.
Overall condition: The record and everything that comes with it are in Near Mint (NM) condition.
Record condition: This was acquired at a time where every record was a thing to be well-cared for. I wish every record was in this condition. There are no scruffs, scrapes or scratches, the record is flat (and round). I’m grading the condition of this record Near Mint (NM).
Record cover condition: I see no damage on this record cover. The front and the back look like new, the edges and corners have no damage. Unfortunately, I ripped the shrink wrap a bit while readying this album ready for auction. This record cover is in Near Mint (NM) condition.
Inner Sleeve condition: This is the original inner sleeve but Subterranean Records was a low budget operation, I guess. It is plain white paper. I taped the sleeve at the edges some to protect the record. Suffering only from the tape, I grade this sleeve in Near Mint (NM) condition.
Extras: There is a  lyric sheet, written in a difficult-to-read style. It does look good, though. The back is blank. There is also an advertisement sheet, telling you of all the things Subterranean Records had for sale. Advertising covers both sides of the paper. I grade these extras in Near Mint (NM) condition.
Due to eBay’s latest listing system, shipping and handling charges, while possibly correct for the United States, are probably wrong for everywhere else in the world. Please ask if necessary. I’ll be glad to answer. I can say I almost always charge less for shipping & handling than eBay does.
For buyers outside the United States, customs and import taxes, if any, are the responsibility of the buyer.
The package will be labeled Merchandise, not Gift.
I usually send out items within a day of receiving payment but several things could slow me down. I don’t like to send things to an address other than the one provided by eBay. Being a verified buyer and having a confirmed address can help.
