You will never see another auction like this on eBay. Up for auction are all 100 of the much heralded Fantasy 45 Jazz Series in new, sealed, unused, and must I say perfect condition. This extremely LTD Edition series includes 100 of the greatest Jazz albums ever recorded on 180 gram heavy vinyl re-mastered at half speed and cut at 45 RPM by the fine folks at AcousTech Mastering. The collection you are bidding on is number 114 signed by the masters themselves Kevin Gray and Steve Hoffman. The excellent Acoustic Sound folks in Salinas, Kansas marketed these items and now have very cool boxes to house the collection (Not included in this auction) which I was going to buy should I have been able to keep the records.
The raison detre for this auction is the recent housing crises affecting my family. Something has to go and if I were a fanatical Jazz afficianado this collection would not be my first choice and believe me, it is painful to part with these beautiful pieces. I know I will regret it once the tide of financial misfortune passes. For now, it is necessary.
Each 2 LP set has original artwork and cover notes. I have included only a fraction of photos to show examples for you. There were 4 sets of twenty five released and as you research this auction, you will see Sets 1 and 2 have some items sold out, unavailable, or higher in price from the original sale. Over the years, the albums were released mainly 2 at a time periodically throughout the year each retailing for $50. Therefore, this collection is worth at least $5000 which is what I paid. Since some are out of print and others retailing for more, your investment is most certainly assured.
Now to the gist of the matter. I am listing all 100 albums for a starting bid of $3800. Call it a reserve, call it what you want-eBay calls it immediate profit. Shipping is actual to destination via UPS ground in the continental USA-I expect 4 boxes of 25 albums to be about $25 a box so $125 shipping is just an estimate. Naturally, non-domestic (AL, HI etc.) and worldwide shipping will be more based on destination. Also plan on insurance costs. I plan to double box each set of 25 - believe me, I am a perfectionist when it comes to my music and stereo so I can assure the LPs arrival in mint condition as I bought them.
Should the winning bid be over $4300, I will pay shipping and insurance costs within the continental USA again via UPS ground. Non-domestic (AL, HI etc.) and worldwide shipping will be equally prorated (but not free) based on destination.
The buyer may also pick up the collection in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
I have 100% feedback on eBay so you can be assured of satisfaction. Cashiers Check or Money Order are the only payment options. PayPal will not be accepted.
