Original 1st US Atlantic Records pressing of Led Zeppelin’s 2nd studio album released on October 22, 1969. Holy grail Robert Ludwig’s “Hot” mastering. Pressed at the Monarch Record Mfg. Co., Los Angeles, CA plant, this pressing is considered to be one of the best ones to fully convey Robert Ludwig’s mastering. Perhaps, this copy is one of the best we’ve ever listed for an auction. If graded conservatively, the condition of the vinyl would be Excellent. The cover of this copy is one of the best examples of the 1st print textured matte raw cardboard gatefold cover remaining in the original factory shrink wrap. The front cover contains the original promotional “Includes the Hit Single Whole Lotta Love” hype sticker with the catalog number SD8236 affixed to the shrink wrap. The back cover contains a very rare track listing “This Album Contains” sticker affixed to the cover underneath the shrink wrap. 1st print Atlantic Records “1841 Broadway, New York, N.Y.” address 2.75” pressing ring labels with the “SD 8236” catalog number and the “MO” suffix identifying the Monarch pressing. The full matrix numbers are as follows: Side 1: ST-A-691671-MO-CC RL SS MR in a Circle LW △13933 (1) W AT

Side 2: ST-A-691672-MO-CC MR in a Circle LW RL SS △13933-x (2) W. This Robert Ludwig’s “Hot Mix” mastering copy comes with the original “From The Atlantic Catalogue” inner sleeve showing the adverts for the other Atlantic releases.

The cover remaining in the original factory shrink wrap is graded as Near Mint Minus. The shiny vinyl is graded as somewhere between Excellent Plus and Near Mint Minus. It retains its magnificent factory gloss barely having any hairlines or scuffs, perhaps only a couple of ones that could be seen under a strong light source. The labels are very clean, completely scuff- and wear-free, and are graded as Mint Minus. The original Atlantic inner sleeve is in Near Mint Minus condition and doesn't have any splits or tears. The vinyl sounds amazing with only just some very light occasional static which most likely could go away if the record was professionally cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine. The original "Led Zeppelin II" songbook is in great vintage condition.
