Description
Up for auction is a nice copy of the super rare Funkadelic album "Maggot Brain" originally released on Westbound Records (WB 2007) in 1971. This copy is a guaranteed, original first U.S. pressing, not a reissue or import like most for sale on eBay. No Reserve Auction!

Condition:
The cover is in very nice condition, considering how prone to wear these matte finish covers are. Incredibly, there is no ring wear on this cover, which is so common with these. Front and back look very clean. No writing anywhere. Seams are intact, no splits, but they do have typical wear and some chipping (see photos). Corners show rubbing. Inside the fold-out is also clean, no ring wear, just a little flaking along the middle spine/seam. Overall, still a very attractive cover, a well-preserved example. Grade it Very Good Plus (VG+).
The vinyl is also in nice condition, still has some original shine but does show previous handling and play. Some very light, superficial hairlines on both sides, though nothing deep or serious. A couple very light needle marks, but again, not serious. I've play-tested this record on my high-end turntable, and the sound quality is very nice, not distorted, just some light surface noise on the lead-in grooves, but after the music starts, you can't hear it--plays strong. Grade the vinyl Very Good Plus (VG+). A nice example of this rarity.
