Hello, and welcome to another auction item from Chicago’s Wax Trax! Records official archive.
We have been starting to pick through the Wax Trax! vault and found a few rare items that we would like to make available to collectors for the first time in decades.

For those wondering about the influential store & label, founders Jim Nash & Dannie Flesher first opened Wax Trax! in the Fall of 1978. The Chicago store focused primarily on experimental, unusual or hard to find collectables and quickly became the center of underground punk, new wave and industrial music culture throughout the Midwest.
Using the momentum of the the store’s success, Nash & Flesher branched out into the seminal record label in 1980. Early pivotal artists such as Front 242, Ministry, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, Front Line Assembly, COIL, Laibach, KMFDM and so many other electronic pioneers had their beginnings with Jim & Dannie and Wax Trax! Records. The label's contribution to what has now become known as "Industrial Music" cannot be overstated.

What we have here is a very rare piece from 1985. This original FRONT 242 test pressing for "No Comment" (WAX-010) is the 2nd Front 242 release by Wax Trax! and still very much loved by everyone here at WT HQ. This extremely rare test pressing is for the 12" only (Bonus 7" not included)

There were only a handful of these pressed and if you’re a collector, I think you know how difficult it is to find this original T.P. in any condition.This one has never been played. Truly a wonderful and rare piece of Wax Trax! and Front 242 history.

All proceeds from upcoming WAXTRAXCHICAGO auctions will be used to help fund the forthcoming Wax Trax! documentary. This film traces the arc of Wax Trax! Records throughout the 80‘s & 90‘s as well as the influence of Jim, Dannie and all the ground breaking artists that called Wax Trax! home.
