I remember this being sold as a lost UK psych LP when it was initially reissued on Tenth Planet, which perhaps meant people expected something they didn't get, me included. This is not a July-like effect fest and nor is it a We Are Everso-like flower-pop extravaganza. While I love those LPs deeply, partly as evocations of the period, this LP has not dated in the same way at all and remains very fresh. I initially played it looking for psych thrills and didn't find many. What did happen was that these songs lodged somewhere and called me back to listen again at a later date and then they just kept nagging away. It is now one of my favorite UK psych era LPs of all time.Forget about finding an original - this wasn't 'rediscovered' until 30 years after it's release, meaning it has always been very very thin on the ground, rumor has it only 300 were pressed in the first place and it would cost as much as a decent holiday if you did find one. Also, reissues have some additional tracks not included on the Italy only original LP, including the wonderful "Butt Of Deception" which was inexplicably left off first time around.
