Well, if this is not a part of Rock history, I really don't know what is. This is the album which single- handedly defined every radical, subversive and in-your-face album recorded over the ensuing next 33 years. Not only is this one of the most creative and innovative albums ever made, it was a brainchild of one of America's most important and competent avant-garde classical composers of the XX century. The sound of the original vinyl issue will forever bury any CD version of this album you may have. At the time this was recorded, Lenny Bruce was still around, and very much hanging with the "Mothers", and his influence shows (and then some). The album includes a multitude of ingenuous and original ideas, not to mention that it contains the best-ever anti-racism song ever recorded by ANYONE ("Trouble coming every day"). Track listing: Hungry Freaks, Daddy - I Ain't Got No Heart - Who Are The Brain Police? - Go Cry On Somebody Else's Shoulder - Motherly Love - How Could I Be Such A Fool - Wowie Zowie - You Didn't Try To Call Me - Any Way The Wind Blows - I'm Not Satisfied - You're Probably Wondering Why I'm Here - Trouble Every Day - Help, I'm A Rock - It Can't Happen Here - Return Of The Son Of The Monster Magnet

Just to give you an idea how revolutionary and courageous this album was: it came out BEFORE: Beatles’ Revolver (let alone Sgt. Pepper), or The Doors’ first album or The Rolling Stones’ Aftermath or The Beach Boys’ Pet Sounds or any of Jimi Hendrix albums; back in 1966, to the ears of general public, this album must have sounded like a bunch of space blobs making some really, really weird noises.

·                               CONDITION:

·                               RECORD

(IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted, ALL records are graded visually, and NOT play-graded!; we grade records under the strong, diffuse room light or discrete sunlight)

(a)            THE ALBUM IS STILL FACTORY SEALED AND IS BELIEVED TO BE PERFECTLY MINT. Please note: sealed items are assumed to be mint and are sold as-is, as we have no way of inspecting them. For our policy on still sealed records ►click here (PLEASE READ BEFORE PLACING A BID)

(b)            The records are believed to come in their original stock inner sleeves SUCH AS THE ONE SHOWN BELOW, FROM OUR PREVIOUS AUCTION

(c)             The records are apparently pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(d)            Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

·       COVER

COVER IS STILL SEALED; HOWEVER, WE ARE UNABLE TO GRADE IT MINT OR NEAR MINT DUE TO MINOR FLAWS LISTED BELOW; WE GRADE THIS COVER AS EXCELLENT OR VG++

-         Cover has some visible fraying/tattering on all the spine and the bottom seam.

-         Cover has a few tiny wrinkles along the spine

-         Cover has two corners on the bottom seam slightly worn / frayed / bent.

-         Shrink wrap is torn and/or missing in a few small areas.

-         Cover has some light ring wear (nothing significant); On the scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and 10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of ring wear as 1.

NO OTHER IMPERFECTIONS ON THE COVER:

-         No cut-out (drill) holes.

-         No saw-marks or indents
